What tint costs, what Texas allows, and which film actually does something about the heat — written by the people who do the installs.

Purple window tint is dyed film whose dye has broken down under UV, and the colour does not come back — it has to be removed and replaced. The removal itself is straightforward on side glass but genuinely risky on the rear window, where the defroster grid is printed on the same inside surface the film sits on.

A full car takes about two to three hours to install and you drive it away the same day. Curing is separate: the adhesive needs roughly two to three days in Texas summer heat, longer in winter, before you roll the windows down.

For most cars in Central Texas: 35% on the front sides and 20% on the back. 35% up front gives you margin over the legal 25% minimum once factory glass is counted, and 20% behind matches most factory privacy glass.
